Perhaps the biggest story behind our honeymoon wasn’t that it was our first trip to Hawaii, rather that it was nine months after our wedding. :)
Kris was still coaching high school hockey at the time, and while the wedding was in September at the start of the season, the honeymoon had to wait until after the season was over. Which wasn’t too bad, considering we had paid for our own wedding and had to save up again for the honeymoon.
Trip Details
While it was purely a budget trip when measured against our later visits to Maui, it was also the first true vacation we had taken together, as husband and wife or otherwise. We had a lot to learn about travel, but it was still a memorable start.
