In addition to the Instagrams I took the last Sunday from Father’s Day weekend, we also brought out the camera for an evening photo shoot.

While Christian’s patients and cooperation didn’t last long enough to get the full family photo I was hoping for, I was still able to capture a bit of the fun he had exploring a new park.

The park where these shots were taken is out in Buffalo Grove, and a place where a handful of co-workers and I spent almost an entire summer rollerblading at lunchtime while at work. Back then, this playground was just about always empty (except for an occasional day camp field trip) and I never imagined bringing our own child to play there.

It’s definitely out of the way for us to go back there often, but since we were coming back from a nearby mall, it worked out perfectly. As with all of these photo shoots, it would be nice to come back a year from now around this time and see how dominant he on the monkey bars and that drawbridge compared to this year. :)
