It was a spur of the moment idea late Saturday night, but we decided to grab tickets to the Hawks game for Sunday and made our second trip out to the United Center in five days. And, after a tough loss to the Blues the night before, the Hawks were out with a vengeance and stuck it to the Canucks 4-2.
We still had seats up in the 300 section this time (301 Sunday, 310 on Wednesday), but it was still a great view. Sunday’s game we were at center ice, which was just like seeing it on TV but with all the live excitement and atmosphere.
We knew it was going to be a great season to be a Hawks fan this year, but I don’t think either of had expected to be watching 2 of the first 3 home games at the UC instead of on television. Makes me kind of wish we had gone and gotten a 6-game pack or something like that. Might be something to check into.
Let’s see if the guys can keep the turnaround going this Wednesday against the Oilers. Given that both baseball teams here in Chicago crapped out in the playoffs, we have the Bears and the Hawks to route for. And while the Hawks started slow, it’s a long 82 game season and we have a lot of hockey to watch…
